You can get it here.

NOTE: The old key shortcut does not work as Firefox now uses that combination. To add the sidebar go to the View menu, Sidebar sub-menu, and then click on PirateQuesting. Alternatively, right-click in top button bar area (forward/back buttons, etc) and click on Customize. You can then drag a PirateQuesting icon to the bar for quick access to the sidebar.

Changes since 2.2:

Energy/Awake parsing from ajax

Currently the fight logging system is broken and that is a priority to fix.

In addition, I am currently planning on adding a new feature to the sea map page whereby users and fleets can be added to colored lists. All players in the pink list would, for example, be ships to avoid, whereas green could indicate ship to attack because they have lots of money. Lists could be used as a way of identifying friendly fleets.

Longer term, there are some additional ideas that have to be worked out. One long-requested system is an equipment/edible simulator. I already have an idea in mind of how it will work, but it’s not going to be simple. It will likely become available in a release of its own. Probably in or around version 2.4

This release addresses a major bug in AJAX handling. In all places where I test the sidebar, I also have Firebug installed and that was producing some unexpected side-effects. PirateQuesting 2.0.1 has been tested both with and without firebug and is now working correctly. Enjoy.

New features/improvements since 2.0 beta 7

Support for firefox 3.5.3! (had to change two numbers to make that happen — whew!)

Training in default works again…. until FM changes it again. yaaay.

Now supports new inventory categories and equipment types.

Also now supports the crazy mix of XML and JSON that FM currently uses. I expect this will change again in the future. But hey, it works as of release time, right?

The old text-only page for PirateQuesting was obviously pretty easy to maintain but it also wasn’t terribly attractive. I debated writing a new system for posting the updates and allowing comments and then I realized all I really needed was a blog. Why reinvent the wheel — honestly.

The last released version was 2.0 beta 7, however given that it does not currently function with Firefox 3.5.2, I will be putting out a new release soon to address this shortcoming as well as fix a couple of problems introduced by changes to the PirateQuest website.
